Albany Realty Celebrates 20 Years

Albany Realty Group Celebrates 20 Years in Business

When Marie Bettini launched Albany Realty Group, she had a vision for a real estate business that would focus on people, on relationships that make the often-complicated process of buying and selling real estate a little less stressful and more satisfying. Over 20 years, that commitment to building relationships one agent, one client, one vendor at a time, has allowed Albany Realty Group to weather the ups and downs of the market, and see clients move from starter homes to family homes and more.

"It's never been my goal to be the biggest, but instead to be the best in every sense of the word," Marie said.

"The emphasis has always been on adding staff that look at real estate as a career to be nurtured and business to grow," Marie said. "Everyone is experienced, well-educated and dedicated to providing high-quality advice, coaching, and representation to sellers and buyers."

Albany Realty Group moved to Delmar from Colonie, when Marie decided the time was right for the company to purchase its own building. The Town of Bethlehem was the company's choice for its convenient location, vibrant residential real estate market, and engaged small business community. The company renovated its Delaware Ave building and moved in January 2017. "The revenue we generate stays in the community, and we believe in supporting other local small businesses, service providers, and farms," Marie said.

As part of Albany Realty Group's community engagement, the company donates a portion of each sale to the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless. "We believe that everyone deserves a place to call home," Marie said.

Operating Albany Realty Group over 20 years has provided the opportunity to guide clients and the business through changing market conditions. The 2008 housing bubble was a notable challenge. It demanded a close look at goals, expenses and business operations. "We survived, and have continued to thrive, when many did not," Marie said. "Real estate is cyclical, and I know that even when the market is moving along full steam ahead, it makes sense to plan for things to change."

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, buyers, sellers and realtors have had to adjust to volatile market conditions driven by changes in how people are now using their homes, and a decrease in new construction due to supply chain issues. More than ever, Albany Realty Group's commitment to excellent customer service, strong community roots, and professional excellence is paying dividends.
