Update on Albany Country Rail Trail Bridge

Albany County announced today that their rail trail bridge in Slingerlands will be shored up by the end of this week, and removal of the steel is anticipated next week. With it gone, they will continue drainage, paving, and sidewalk work on State Route 85, with the anticipation of the east bound lane reopening at the end of August.

At the same time, Albany County is working on plans to install a temporary pedestrian bridge. Their goal is to have it up before the original October 31 completion date, at which time both lanes of State Route 85 will open. The County is continuing to investigate the cause of last week's incident. https://www.albanycounty.com/.../Compon.../News/News/2218/59
