Plug Power Energizes Bethlehem Golf Outing
Sponsors $25,000 Hole-In-One Contest
DELMAR - Plug Power recently signed on as one of the top-level sponsors for the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce's 37th Annual Golf Outing on Monday, Sept. 19 at the Orchard Creek Golf Course in Altamont. Sponsorship and registration are open to the public and members of the Chamber.
Plug Power joins Owens Corning, The Spinney Group, Windsor Companies, and as Eagle Sponsors for the Outing, which is one of the Chamber's major fundraising events for the year, according to Chamber President Terri Egan.
"We also appreciate our Birdie Level Sponsor Bryant Asset Protection for their continued support of the Outing; and Delmar Beverage, who is sponsoring the beverage cart on the course," Egan added.
As part of the Eagle sponsorship, Plug Power is sponsoring the $25,000 Hole-in-One Contest. Each player in the outing will have a chance to make a hole-in-one on a designated hole at Orchard Creek. If they make a hole-in-one, they will be awarded a $25,000 prize.
"This is a new addition to our Outing," said Egan. "We feel it brings a little extra excitement to the field of play, and hope it energizes golfers to register for our event."
The Outing allows the Chamber to fulfill its mission to assist businesses in the Capital Region and the Bethlehem community as it supports 400 member businesses located in more than two dozen zip codes.
The Chamber encourages businesses to come play for the fun of it, network with others, and enjoy a great barbecue. It also provides a nice opportunity to reward hard-working employees.
"While play was suspended during the COVID years, we did get a chance to host last year," said Egan. "We hope to have even more participants this year. We appreciate the support from all our sponsors who help make this Outing possible each year. We couldn't do it without them and our many participants."
Registration is $165/person or $660/foursome. Individuals or teams can also purchase a Super Pass which allows each player one Mulligan, one Stromboli (string to get closer on one hole), Pay-the-Pro and Putting Contest entry.
Prizes are awarded for: the best team score; individual score; Putting Contest; the School's Out, Inc Longest Drive for Ladies; Crossroads Ford Longest Drive for Men; Carver Industries Closest to the Pin for Ladies; and Quality PM Closest to the Pin for Men. Each player will also receive a team photo magnet sponsored by Sunmark Credit Union, as well as a swag bag including polo shirt sponsored by The Spinney Group, sleeve of Taylor balls sponsored by Pioneer, and other golf tackle and snacks. Media sponsors for this year's event include The Spotlight Newspaper and the Ravena News-Herald.
