Glenmont Round About Update

Week of October 25

  • Nighttime work will resume Monday evening through early Saturday morning as overnight crews will install pavement, curb and temporary road striping at the roundabout.
  • Curbs will be installed on the outer edge of the roundabout late in the week.
  • Sidewalks will be installed in front of CVS and Town Squire Plaza.
  • Foundations for overhead light poles will be installed.
  • Paving will occur on Old Glenmont Road and next to Glenmont Road near the Thruway overpass.
  • Pavement excavation and paving will occur on Route 9W and Feura Bush Road legs of the roundabout. Expect to drive on gravel surfaces for a few days during early part of the week. Paving of these legs will occur during the latter part of the week.
  • Stormwater management/drainage work continues north along Route 9W, including a vegetated swale in the vicinity of Petrol gas station and Mount Moriah Academy.
  • Relocation of Verizon overhead utility lines will continue.

Traffic Impact: In daytime hours, expect lane shifts, shoulder closures and brief traffic stoppages as equipment is moved in and out of the work area. Expect delays.

In nighttime hours, expect lane closures and delays at the roundabout.

 

WHAT'S HAPPENING NEXT

Week of November 1

  • Traffic may begin moving in a roundabout pattern this week.
  • No nighttime work is expected for this week (subject to change based on status of Verizon utility relocation).
  • Daytime curb and sidewalk installations will continue in all remaining parts of the roundabout.
  • A new stormwater retention pond will be installed along Route 9W near Price Chopper.
  • Foundations for overhead light poles will be installed and wiring conduit will be added.
  • Relocation of Verizon overhead utility lines will continue.
