UPDATE: Delaware Ave Road Work – Water Main Leak
Please see the communication from Elizabeth Staubach, Economic Development Coordinator for the Town of Bethlehem, regarding Delaware Avenue:
As you may have noticed there is some construction work being done on Delaware Avenue. The City of Albany will be digging into Delaware Ave to address a leak in their main water line (see attached map). Delaware Ave is a state road, so all communications about the work are being handled by the state DOT. This is not a Town project, and the Town is not involved but we wanted to share what information we have with you on the project.
Due to the leak worsening over the past couple of days, the City of Albany has decided to accelerate their plan to fix the pipeline. Work will proceed on a 24-hour basis until completed. The City of Albany’s contractor will dig down to find the leak and, once the leak location is confirmed, they will make the repair immediately. The City is estimating about 3 days of actual construction work to complete the repair, with the repair work completed by the end of this week. If you have questions regarding the project you can contact Bill Simcoe, Deputy Commissioner, City of Albany Department of Water & Water Supply at 518-434-5302 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
